Removal of unpleasant smell
Some food (e. g. fish) can leave unpleasant smell in the frying oil. You can neutralize the
smell in the following way:
– Heat the frying oil to the temperature of 160 °C.
– Put several parsley sprouts or two bread slices in the frying oil,
– Wait till “bubbles” disappear, then take out the parsley or bread using a suitable tool.
The frying oil will now have neutral taste.
IV. MAINTENANCE
Unplug the appliance from the electric outlet before each maintenance by pulling
out the fork of the supply cord from the el. outlet and let cool down! Wipe the outer
surface with a soft cloth after each use. Do not use any rough or abrasive cleaning agents
and metal tools which could scratch the surface during cleaning. After having poured out
the oil, remove all potential traces of grease and residues of previous frying which have
stuck to the heating body C1 . Wash all the remaining parts (housing, container, basket,
lid) in hot water with soap, then rinse with clean water and let dry thoroughly (you may use
a dish-washer). Clean the filter E4 in lukewarm water with soap and let dry thoroughly.
Never dry the plastic die-cast over a heat source (e.g. stove, el./gas cooker ). It is normal
that the surface colour changes with time. This change does not, however, change the
surface quality in any way and is no reason to take this appliance back! Wipe the supply
cord C8 with a cloth and store it into the storing space C9 on the back side of the control
panel. Store the appliance thoroughly clean on a dry, dustless place out of reach of
children and persons sui juris.
Removing filters ( E4 )
Slightly pull out the cover E3 from the lid E . Remove the filter E4 from the lid. Put the filter
back into the lid after cleaning and drying. Insert the protrusions on the cover into the
openings in the lid and close it with a click.
