Shelf-life of the wine
What tasting temperature for which wine?
There is no specific shelf life for wine. Each wine develops at its own
pace. The quality of the wine and the conditions of conservation are
decisive in the evolution and the maturity of your bottles.
However, count:
•
5 to 7 years for light red wines
•
5 to 10 years for white wines
•
About 15 years for very tannic red wines
•
18 to 20 years for sweet white wines
Note:
Dry white and rosé wines are not wines to keep, drink them quickly.
Sparkling wines must be enjoyed quickly.
Tip:
allow one hour for the temperature of a bottle of wine opened
at room temperature (20°C) to stabilise.
Tip:
White wine served as an aperitif can be served between 8 and
12°C. Do not hesitate to place white wine in the refrigerator one hour
in advance of tasting.
