Extending the string
-
If the appliance no longer cuts properly or
the motor runs too fast, the string has most
probably become too short.
-
Extend the string so that the knife cuts it
according to the picture.
Extending the string while trimming
-
When the trimmer head is rotating at full speed, push its underside quickly and shortly
against the ground. If the string still is too short, push its underside again against the
ground.
Extending the string by hand
If the string has become too short, it can no longer be extended by pressing the trimmer
head’s underside against the ground. You must pull the string from the spool by hand in the
following way:
-
Turn off the engine and let it cool down.
-
Place the appliance on the ground.
-
Push the underside of trimmer head by hand and pull the strings on both sides until they
are longer than the guard edges. The string ends are cut to the correct length by the
knife.
Trimming
Trim only with left part (light grey
area in the picture).
Move the appliance from right to
left.
On the right-hand side (dark grey
area in the picture) the string
turns in your direction:
in this area there is an increased
risk of recoil and objects may be
thrown back towards the operator
by the movement of the string
which may cause injuries.
Trim always at full speed.
Cut long grass from top to bottom
so that the grass does not wrap
around the head.
Use only the tip of the string. In
this way the appliance works
effectively and grass will not wrap
around the head.
Do not move the trimmer head too close to posts, walls, fences etc. Hard objects may
damage the string quickly and it may snap.
Tree bark, young trees and bushes may be damaged if the string contacts them.
