Pizza Stone EPS 2 A1
Read these operating instructions carefully before using
the appliance for the fi rst time and preserve them for
later reference. Pass these instructions on to whoever
might acquire the Pizza Stone at a future date.
Intended use
The pizza stone and the baking sheet are intended
exclusively for the baking of pizzas and light pastries
in the oven or grill (gas or charcoal). The pizza stone
is made from ioite, a durable, homogeneous material
which tolerates large variations in temperature. The
baking sheet is made from quickly cooling aluminum,
whereby the pizza or the baked goods can be transport-
ed easily and without having to touch the hot stone.
Safety information
Wear oven gloves or a diff erent but suitable thermal
■
protection when using the pizza stone.
Do not let the baking sheet protrude beyond the
■
edge of the pizza stone, as it will become too hot
from the heat radiation.
Allow the pizza stone to cool completely before
■
removing it from the oven or grill.
Do not clean the pizza stone or the baking sheet in
■
a dishwasher.

Preparation of the pizza stone in an
oven
Pull the protective foil off the baking sheet and wash
the sheet with water and some detergent. Place the
pizza stone on the middle rack in the oven and preheat
it for at least 30 minutes at the highest level (top/bot-
tom heat with a minimum of 250°C). We recommend
that you do not lay the pizza stone on the fl oor of the
oven, so that the air can circulate and heat build in the
lower heat spirals does not destroy them. The pizza
stone now begins with the storage of heat energy. After
a preheating time of 30 minutes the pizza stone is
operational and ready to bake.
Preparation of the pizza stone in a grill
Pull the protective foil off the baking sheet and wash
the sheet with water and some detergent. To bake a
pizza in a grill you will need a so-called kettle grill or
a gas grill (grill with lid). The lid refl ects the heat and
thus also bakes the pizza from the top. Place the pizza
stone on the cooking grate in your grill and preheat it for
at least 30 minutes. After a preheating time of 30 minutes
the pizza stone is operational and ready to bake.
Baking with the pizza stone and the
baking sheet
Now place the pizza on the baking sheet and then both
onto the pizza stone. Ensure that the baking sheet does
not protude over the sides of the pizza stone, where
it would be exposed to heat radiation from the oven
or grill. When baking bread or ready-made dough it
is recommended that you place baking paper on the
baking sheet, otherwise the dough could stick to the
baking sheet. The pizza stone can be used without a
baking sheet, but it should be dusted with fl our before
use. When everything has been baked suffi ciently,
remove the baking sheet from the grill or oven. Wear
oven gloves or use a diff erent but suitable heat protec-
tion. Thanks to the baking sheet the hot and heavy
pizza stone need not be taken out of the grill or oven
after every baking process.
Cleaning
TAKE NOTE
Let the pizza stone and the baking sheet cool
►
completely before cleaning them.
There is a risk of being burnt!
The pizza stone and the baking sheet are not
►
suitable for cleaning in the dishwasher!
DO NOT let the pizza stone soak in the washing-up
water, as it absorbs and stores liquids. During the
subsequent preheating there will be the risk that it will
develop stress cracks and break.
Carefully remove burnt on remnants with a ceramic hob
scraper then sweep the pizza stone off with a hand
brush. Due to heat and food ingredients such as sauces,
sugar, etc. the pizza stone changes its colour over
time, but this is insignifi cant for hygiene. For serious
discolourations the pizza stone can be carefully sanded
with fi ne sandpaper. Afterwards, it must again be
thoroughly swept down with a hand brush.
