The MSED/HL950 consists of a chassis including the baseboard and
add-on interface modules.
This chapter gives a description of the physical interfaces included in
the CES model.

BASEBOARD
The baseboard is the base of the MSED/HL950 and is mounted in the
enclosure. It hosts the processor, volatile and non-volatile memory,
real time clock, the two native Ethernet ports and the console port. It
also has connectors for the interface modules.
The network processor is a high performance MIPS 4Km core with
built-in quality of service, hardware accelerator engines for packet
processing, voice processing and encryption/decryption.

(2 x RJ45) on the baseboard, both
providing 10/100Base-Tx Ethernet. The Ethernet port 0 can be
configured to act either as WAN or LAN interface, while as port 1 only
acts as LAN interface.
The MAC addresses for the two Ethernet ports are printed on the unit
label and on the package for the complete deliverable.
The Ethernet connectors each have two built-in LEDs. The left LED
