9. TROUBLESHOOTING
Troubles Causes Solutions
Engine
extinguishes
gradually. Fuel tank switch or carburetor
blocked. Clean fuel tank switch and
carburator.
Special two-strike machine oil
added not in given ratio. Add 50:1 gasoline engine
fuel mixture.
Engine
extinguishes
suddenly. Too much deposited carbon
on the electrodes of the spark
plug. Clean and adjust the
clearance of the electrode to
0,7 ~ 0,8 mm.
High-voltage winding failed. Replace.
Spark plug failed. Replace.
High voltage wire and cap
dropped off. Connect again and make
them well contacted.
Two-stroke machine oil
absent in the fuel. Replace the fuel, add
several drops of machine oil
to the hole of the spark plug
and rotate the crankshaft.
Engine operation
fluctuates. Fastening nuts of the
carburetor loosened. Examine and tighten.
Screws on the air filter cover
loosened, causing the
leakage of air. Check and tighten.
Minimum idling revs
adjustment screw loosened. Tighten the minimum idling
rev adjustment screw and
loosen it by 1 – 2 turns.
Fuel supplying
system Fuel tank switch blocked. Remove the float chamber
beneath the fuel tank switch
and clean the switch filter.
Main port of the carburetor
blocked. Clean.
Too much impurities in the
fuel. Clean the fuel tank and
replace with qualified fuel
mixture.
Too much fuel in the cylinder
because of repeated starting. Remove and clear the spark
plug and pull the starter to
exhaust the fuel in the
cylinder.
Inappropriate mixing ratio of
the fuel. Prepare the fuel with the
ratio specified.
Ignition. Spark plug damaged or
deposited with too much
carbon. Clean or replace.
Too large or too small
clearance of the spark plug. Adjust clearance to 0,7 ~ 0,8
mm.
