EQUITEL – Technical Manual N968

Wiring the P-Fail Alarm Contacts

The “P-Fail” alarm relay is provided to signal critical error conditions that may occur on

the switch. The contacts are energized upon powering up of the switch and remain

energized until a critical error occurs including power failure and Ethernet port

disconnection. Take the wiring illustration below as an example that illustrates the proper

relay connection forming a normally closed circuit, and the connection is to be broken

when an error occurs.
