1.4.3 Hexadecimal Dumping
■
Hexadecimal dumping function
This function prints the data transmitted from the host
computer in hexadecimal numbers and their corresponding
characters.
■
Starting hexadecimal dumping
Open the cover and turn the power on while pressing the
PAPER FEED button, then close the cover. The printer first
prints "Hexadecimal Dump" on the paper roll and then
prints the received data in hexadecimal numbers and their
corresponding characters.
Notes
• If no characters correspond to the data received, the
printer prints ".".
• Control commands are printed in bold for emphasis.
• During hexadecimal dumping, any commands other than
DLE EOT and DLE ENQ do not function.
• If there is insufficient print data to fill one line (such as at
the end of a hexadecimal dump), the data will not print.
(This means that 8-byte data is required to print on one
line.) The remaining data in this case can be printed by
placing the printer in off-line mode by opening the printer
cover or pressing the PAPER FEED button.
■
Ending hexadecimal dumping
End hexadecimal dumping by turning the power off or
resetting the printer after printing has finished.

Hexadecimal Dump
1B 21 00 1B 26 02 40 40 : .!..&.@@
1B 25 01 1B 63 34 00 1B : .%..c4..
41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 : ABCDEFGH
1.4.4 Printing Operation
■
Sensors and printing operation
When the printer detects a paper end, it stops or continues
printing, depending on the ESC c 4 command setting. The
paper roll near-end and cut sheet sensors are enabled.
The printer operation then differs depending on the paper
type, as follows:
●
Paper roll mode
When printing stop is selected and a paper end is detected,
the printer stops printing after printing current line and
feeding the paper. If the DIP switch 2-3 is OFF, the printer
goes off-line. To start printing, close the printer cover after
loading a new paper roll.
●
Cut sheet mode
When printing stop is selected and a paper end is detected,
the printer prints data to the end of the printable area. Then
the printer ejects the paper and enters the paper waiting
state after receiving further print data.
■
Buffer-full printing
When subsequent data is received after the printer pro-
cesses one line of data in the print buffer, the printer
automatically prints the processed line and feeds the paper
by one line.
1.4.5 Other Functions
■
Paper load
When the printer cover is open and the power is on, paper
from the paper roll is automatically fed by pressing the
paper load switch (located on the top of the head cover) and
inserting the paper into the paper path. The edge of the
paper must be folded straight. Hold the switch until the
paper comes out of the paper exit.
■
Paper release
The paper can be removed by pulling it out toward the
ejection side while pulling the release lever (located on the
left side of the paper roll) toward you.
■
Clamshell mechanism
This mechanism should be used when a problem (such as
a paper jam) occurs. Raise the mechanism while pulling
the lever on its right side in the direction of the arrow. This
will open the head cover.
