Scanning problems
Image is dark, with little or no detail.
Cause
What to do
Screen is not calibrated.
Calibrate the screen as described in
“ Calibrating Your Screen” on page
3-10.
You cannot scan an image or you only get a few dots for the
scanned image.

No document on the
document table.
Make sure you have placed a
document on the document table of
the scanner.
Threshold
setting needs
changing.
When
the
OCR/Line Art
tab is selected
in the EPSON TWAIN window, change
the
Threshold
setting on the
OCR/Line
Art
menu. See “ Threshold” on page
4-17.
Moiré (cross hatch) patterns appear in the scanned image
during scanning of printed material

Effect setting is unsuitable.
Select the
De-screening
setting on
the
Photo
menu.
Transparent sheet was not
used.
Place a transparent sheet between the
document and document table to
defocus the image.
