3. Turn the screw counterclockwise as shown by the arrow.

The screw has a built-in spring, so it pops out a little when

it is released. You cannot remove the screw.

Note:

You will need to lock the carriage when you store or transport the

scanner.

Plugging in the

scanner

Firmly connect the power cable to the power inlet on the

rear of the scanner and the other end into an appropriately

grounded outlet as shown below.
