Typical causes of soiling

Error image

Burnt-on powder on the surface of the 
laser window, e.g. due to swirling up of 
the bed of powder.

Marks along the wiping direction due to 
cleaning laser window when still 
excessively warm.

Cleaning fluid smears burnt onto the 
laser window due to failure to follow the 
cleaning procedure.

Risk of damage!

Cleaning at an excessively high temperature may cause cleaning fluid to 

burn into the surface of the laser window.
Leave the laser window to cool down before you start the cleaning work.
The maximum surface temperature of the laser window allowed is 50 °C.
