Troubleshooting an Enphase System
2014 Enphase Energy Inc.

DC Too High
The microinverter reports that DC input voltage from the PV module is too high.
If one microinverter reports
DC Too High
events, then the PV module may be incompatible. The
PV module may generate a higher voltage than is recommended for the microinverter. Refer to
the Module Compatibility Calculator at http://enphase.com/module-compatibility-calculator-m250-
update/ to check PV module compatibility
If multiple units report
DC Too High
, and you have ruled out incompatible PV modules, contact
Enphase Customer Support to verify the firmware version of the microinverters.
Device Produced No Power
Device Produced No Power
triggers when the microinverter produced 0 watts of power for more than 24
hours.
Verify that the site has service from the electrical utility and that none of the solar circuit-breakers
are tripped.
Check the system event history for
AC Voltage Out Of Range
and
AC Frequency Out Of
Range
. These events indicate possible problems with your utility service.
Check the system event history for
GFI Tripped
or
DC Resistance Low
. If the solar installer
verifies that the connected PV module is working, this event can indicate that the microinverter
needs to be replaced.
Envoy not Reporting
An Envoy not Reporting event is raised when the Internet connection is experiencing a problem.
If the Envoy LCD displays
–
Web
, then the Envoy is not currently communicating with the Enlighten
servers. The Internet service may be down or the router may be unplugged or turned off.
Internet connections often have temporary outages. If the situation persists, contact your ISP (Internet
Service Provider). When the connection is restored, the Enphase Envoy communication gateway will
transmit all the energy data that it stored.
If the Internet service is dropping out periodically, and you notice that other devices at the site are
also losing Internet connectivity, contact the ISP.
Do you have dial-up Internet service? Dial-up Internet service is not supported on the Envoy.
The Envoy may have an internal error; see
on page 11.
See
Did the Envoy previously have an Internet connection at this site?
on page 15.
Gateway Failure
The Envoy has detected a software problem. To clear this message, unplug the Envoy from the electrical
outlet and then plug it back in. Do this only once. If it returns to failure mode, contact Enphase Customer
Support.
