ENIGMA II DR-81000 Digital Receiver
Version 2.00
The event will be displayed for up to 30 seconds, or
until a new event is received. If no new event
received, the display will revert to the standby mode.
CPM2 Supervision
Similar to the LC2 Line Cards, the RC2 card monitors
the connection with the CPM2. In case the
connection fails, the RC2 card switches to standalone
mode, and stores the incoming messages in its event
buffer until the connection with the CPM2 is restored.
After the connection with CPM2 is restored, the card
will report buffered events to the CPM2 and resume
to standby mode.
Radio Card Menu
In Status Info Display mode, if one of the active radio
channels is selected, the menu of the RC2 card is
displayed in the bottom row of the LCD display.
The menu items can be activated by pressing the
F1..F4 keys, respectively.
Audio Monitoring
With the first item in the menu the continuous
monitoring of the audio output can be enabled, to be
able to check the noise-band on the channel. This
can be done for one or both channels, and can be
useful at solving reception problems. The “MON ON”
function turns on audio monitoring, which is indicated
by a small arrow beside the channel number.
A►READY
The first menu item changes to “MON OFF” now.
Pressing F1 again will disable audio monitoring – the
arrow disappears, and the menu item changes back
to “MON ON”.
IMPORTANT!
The radio channels will turn on audio
output automatically, when the signal level is above a
preset value (noise killer). The noise killer level, and
the bar-graph display parameters can be set with the
EniTerm Utility, (see “EniTerm Software Manual” for
details.)
RC2 Radio Card Settings
Several paramters of the RC2 Radio Card can be
programmed by the user manually, with the controls
of the Enigma II receiver. These settings can be
accessed by pressing F2 “SETUP” at the menu of the
RC2 card. Doing that, the following dialog appears:
Figure 20. Radio Card Settings
The currently selected field is flashing. Skip between
fields with the Left and Right arrow keys. The field
contents can be increased with the + (F1) button and
decreased with the – (F2) button. Pressing a button
continuously will repeat the action until the button is
released. After the fields are set correctly, press the
Enter key to save the set values. Pressing the Cancel
(F4) or Display button will exit the dialog without
making any changes.
The settings of channels “A” and “B” are similar to
each other and will be discussed together.
Channel A / B
The actual radio channel can be enabled or disabled
here. The channels can be activated indpendently of
each other. Channel A is enabled, channel B is
disabled by default.
Configuration
The first value defines the operating mode of the
channel. It can be set either to “Receiver” mode, or
“Repeater” mode. By default, the channel operates in
receiver mode.
The second parameter defines the channel type, it
can be set to 1-Way, or 2-Way. In 2-way mode, the
card can communicate with other radio devices in the
2-way repeater-network. Regardless of this setting,
the RC2 card can receive communication from 1-way
devices in any case, as the 2-way protocol is
downwards compatible with the normal, 1-way radio
protocol. Default setting is 1-Way.
The third parameter defines, if there is a frequency
shift in repeater mode, so that the reception and
transmission frequencies are the same or not. This
setting has no meaning in receiver mode. The default
is “Same”.
