7. SERVICE
7.1.Service Tools:
Following are service tools required for effectively maintaining and repairing the Heat Pump
Water Heaters.
Electrical: Digital Multimeter Measure AC or DC voltage, current &
resistance
Clamp On Ampmeter Multimeter with Clamp-on induction amp
probe
Phase Sequence Indicator Show direction of rotation & loss of phase
Refrigerant: Refrigerant Gage Set High & low pressure gages for R-134a
Hose Set Charging hose, Vacuum hose
Vacuum Pump Two-stage high vacuum pump, 15 micron or less
vacuum
Charging Cylinder Charge the exact weight of R-134a
Others: Temperature Probe Measuring surface / air temperature
7.2.Caution for service:
•
Deenergize all electrical power sources before attempting to service any heat point
•
Brazing on any piping system, ensure that it is depressurized and vented to atmosphere.
•
Only qualified refrigeration technicians should perform rnaintenance on any refrigeration
system and they must comply with any local or national codes that apply.
•
POE (polyol ester) oil. will absorb moisture from air and therefore care should be taken to
minimize the time that the system is open to the atmosphere during repairs.
•
Make sure that all the needed components and supplies are available prior to starting any
repair procedure.
•
Do not mix refrigeration oils. Use only the oil that is named on the compressor label.
•
Standard access valve ports (with valve cores) are provided on the suction and discharge
