6. MAINTENANCE
6.1. Evaporating Coil
Evaporator coil should be checked periodically and, if dirty, cleaned with a mild soap and water.
Care should be taken to avoid the damaging the fin that will restrict the air flow.
6.2. Air Filter:
To ensure proper operation the heat pump air filter should be cleaned on a regular basis. Dirty
filters that restrict air flow across the evaporator coil will reduce water heating capacity and may adversely
affect heat
pump components.
The air filter can be cleaned with a mild soap and water. Care should be taken to avoid damaging
the filter with a high pressure water stream.
6.3. Evaporator Coil Drain Pan:
The drainpan and drain tube should be cleaned and checked regularly to prevent fouling.The P-
trap should also be checked regularly. If P-trap is installed as shown in this manual, it can be cleaned via a
removable plug.
6.4. Electrical Connections
When performing periodic maintenance and while the heat pump is deenergized all electrical
connections should be checked to ensure that they are tight. Loose electrical connections can cause high
resistance connections that will lead to failure of the terminal and electrical failure.
6.5.Plate Type Heat Exchanger
Plate Type Heat Exchanger should be checked by the recorded performance. Drain and vent
valves recommended shall be used for scale removal of the Plate Type Heat Exchanger. Follow the scale
removal procedure in this manual.
