5. Adjust the sample flow rate to obtain 3000 sccm.
6. Perform minor adjustments to the valve once the temperature is
stable, if necessary.
7. Adjust the pressure regulator downstream of the dryer, if necessary.
8. Close the SCS door.
To recalculate the system constant
In some cases it may not be possible to reproduce the correct validation
concentration C
p
. In such cases, the system constant will need to be
recalculated using the following procedure.
1. Press #7 and allow the analyzer to validate for at least one hour
before proceeding.
2. Calculate the average (mean) validation measurement value C
p
.
The 3000 sccm reading is at ml/min at STP.
Do NOT adjust the pressure regulator or needle valve without first
consulting the Service department. Refer to “Service Contact”
on page B-5.
Access to this parameter is gained through the Service password
only. Contact Service for password information. Refer to “Service
Contact” on page B-5.
DO NOT CHANGE ANY OTHER PARAMETER. Doing so may cause
the analyzer to stop functioning or provide an inaccurate
measurement.
To recalculate the system constant K
p
, the analyzer must be
reading a correct and accurate value within the measured range.
Contact Service if there is any reason to believe the analyzer is
not working correctly or making an accurate measurement. Refer
to “Service Contact” on page B-5.
Verify that the analyzer and permeation device have stabilized.
Allow a minimum of
8 hours
, preferably overnight, before
beginning this procedure.
