Please note: the devices have an active and passive current input to which a 2-wire or 4-
wire transmitter can be directly connected. The output of the device can be operated
actively or passively. The current signal is then available to the PLC / controller or to other
instrumentation.
Example: flow measurement in a hazardous area
• The active 4-wire Promag P300 sensor supplies a current signal, which is proportional to
the flow, to the passive input of the isolating amplifier
• The RN22 active barrier supplies a passive current output signal, which is proportional to
the input signal, to an active input of the evaluation unit
