IO-Link Smart Sensor Profile 2nd Edition

IO-Link is a point-to-point connection for communication between the measuring device

and an IO-Link master. The measuring device features an IO-Link communication interface

type 2 (pin 4) with a second IO function on pin 2. This requires an IO-Link-compatible

assembly (IO-Link master) for operation. The IO-Link communication interface enables

direct access to the process and diagnostic data. It also provides the option of configuring

the measuring device while in operation.
