Installation and commissioning

4.3.1

Installation of the torch

CAUTION

Danger of injury from breaking glass! Always take care when installing or removing the

parts.

Fit one quick-connect fitting to each length of tubing.

Fit the quick-connect snap fitting to the other end of one length
of tubing. Slide the fittings onto the torch. The line with the

quick-connect fitting on the other end goes on the side arm

nearest the spherical joint. This will be the auxiliary gas line

will be the plasma gas line.

Torch tubing: 4.75 mm ID / 1.52 mm wall

length 300 mm

Carefully insert the ignition lead into the open end of the other

length of tubing

until only the connector is exposed.

Open the plasma compartment lid on the front side of the

instrument.

Open the clamp inside the torch compartment. Place the torch in
the clamp sliding it forward between the induction coils.

To position the torch correctly, slide the torch forward until the

glass nubs on its bottom side are touching the outside of the
clamp.
