SCSI Bus Interface

7.2.2 SCSI INTERFACE ELECTRICAL DESCRIPTION

The MD21 interfaces to SCSI host adapters and other controllers via

the SCSI bus. A 50-pin male IDC connector, reference designated J6

on the MD21, plugs directly into the SCSI bus.

Component locations

for the MD21 are shown in Figure 7-1. All signals use open

collector drivers.

7.2.2.1 Output Signal Characteristics

When measured at the SCSI device's connection, each signal driven

by a SCSI device has the following output characteristics:

•

Signal assertion = 0.0 VDC to 0.4 VDC

•

Minimum driver output capability = 48 milliamperes (sinking)

at 0.5 VDC

•

Signal negation = 2.5 VDC to 5.25 VDC
