Pipe Isolation
The entire hydraulic circuit, including the piping, must be isolated to prevent con-
densation during in cooling mode and also to prevent the reduction of the cooling
and heating capacities.
If the temperature of the outdoor water exceeds 30 °C and humidity is above 80%,
the thickness of the materials used must be at least 20 mm to avoid condensation
on the surface of the sealant.
Ensure that all pipes are isolated to prevent the water from freezing.
Filling
Before filling the unit with water please check the following:
• Water pressure before filling must be 1.5 bar.
• Ensure that you have a discharge outlet which is compatible with the pressure
adjustment valve and ensure that water does not come into contact with the
electrical components.
• Air discharge outlets must be positioned at the highest pints in the system. The
air pressure discharge outlets must be located in easily accessible areas, so that
they can be created with ease. An automatic air pressure valve is included with
the unit. Check that the air pressure valve is not too tight, this ensures that air
can be discharged into the water circuit.
• Check that the components installed in the plumbing are capable of sustaining
the water pressure.
• Do not use zinc plated components in the hydraulic circuit. Excessive corrosion of
these components could ensue.
Water filling and air discharge into the hydraulic system
1) Connect the water supply to a discharge/filling valve.
2) Fill the hydraulic circuit with water until the gauge displays a 2.0 bar pressure
level.
3) Turn on the circulator to expel the air from the system.
When you press PUMP SW on the PCB display, the water pump begins to circu-
late the water.
Each digital segment on the right of the PCB screen will light up when the pump
is working.
The pump shuts down automatically after 10 minutes. If you were unable to
expel the air from the system, press PUMP SW again after it has stopped. If you
want to turn the pump off before automatic shut down, just press PUMP SW
again.
Note
• During the filling operation, it might not be possible to expel all the air from
the system. The remaining air is removed via the automatic air pressure
discharge valves during the initial hours of service. It may be necessary to
top up the water after this.
• The water pressure indicated on the gauge varies according to the water
temperature, that is to say a higher temperature means a higher level of
pressure.
Moreover, water pressure must remain above 0.3 bar to prevent air entering
the circuit.
• The unit can discharge a little of the excess water via the pressure adjust-
ment valve.
Preventing the pump from seizing up
If after a long period of inactivity, the rotor shaft should seize up, you should
act as follows:
- Turn off the power
- Remove the front panel
- Unscrew the protection cap on the shaft at the back of the pump
- Insert a Phillips screwdriver in the grooving and turn the rotor shaft
- Replace the protection cap
- Replace the front panel
- Turn the power back on
PUMP SW
Water connections must be performed according to the diagram and the instruc-
tions supplied by the system designer and by respecting the water inlets and outlets
on the pump.
The hydraulic circuit must be created according to the following recommendations:
• It is advisable to install shut-off valves which allow you to isolate the
most important components in the system.
All valves (they can be spherical, globe or butterfly), must be measured in such a
way as to prevent leaks as much as possible when they are open.
• Drainage outlets must be located at the lowest points on the system.
• Air pressure release outlets must be located at the highest points on the system.
• All piping must be isolated and adequately supported.
• The presence of solid particles in the water obstructs the inter cooler. The inter
cooler inlet must be protected using an extractable wire filter. The filter must
have a mesh calibre of at least 10/cm
2
.
• After installation and each repair operation, it is necessary to clean the entire
system carefully, paying special attention to the filter.
• Is there an automatic frost protection, which provides:
- Activation of the circulating pump with outside temperature below 4 ° C
- Start the compressor with water temperature below 2 ° C.
To enable this protection move in On the dip switch No. 1, on the PDB DISPLAY.
• If the unit has been installed in areas prone to sub-zero temperatures,
where there is a risk that the electricity supply can be cut off from the
pump, you must mix the water with an adequate amount of inhibited
mono propylene glycol.
• In the case of a first time installation or circuit drainage, you must purge the enti-
re system. In order to ensure that the unit functions to the best of its capabilities,
always check that the liquid is clear, free from any visible impurities and that
water hardness is lower than 20° f after each cleaning operation.
Hydraulic Circuit Connection
The presence of air, humidity or dust in the circuit could cause problems. Always
keep the following in mind when connecting the hydraulic circuit:
• Only use clean piping.
• Cover the end of a pipe when inserting it through a wall, thus avoiding
dust and dirt.
• Use a good sealant to secure connections. Connections must be adequately
secured in order to sustain system pressures and temperatures.
Tightening Coupler
15 to 30 N.m. (150 a 350) kgf cm.
• The unit must only be used in a closed water system. The application in an open
water circuit can cause excessive corrosion of water pipes.
