Gerpex Press Fit System
2.9 Pipe/Fitting assembly
Once the cut end of pipe has been prepared and
calibrated please inspect the Gerpex press fitting for
any signs of damage. Ensure fitting is clean and free
of dust or debris prior to insertion. Take care when
inserting the pipe into the fitting, ensure both are
aligned and push together to engage. Do not rotate as
this can dislodge the O-rings, see Figs 3.7, 3.8 and 3.9.

2.9 Pipe/Fitting assembly
Note: Do not lubricate with grease or oil as this
can corrode the o-rings. Please use clean water to
lubricate only.
As the pipe is pushed into the fitting, full insertion can
be confirmed with the sight hole located in the blue
collar. See Fig 4.0.

Fig 4.1 shows how the pipe has been fully inserted
into the fitting. The rounded edge of the internal face
of the pipe can be seen showing that calibration has
been carried out correctly and double O-rings can be
seen intact.
