Low-Voltage Electrical Wiring
Low-voltage interconnect wiring must be 18 AWG.
1.
Locate 24V control transformer in air handler. Provides
low-voltage control power to both air handler and
condenser. Low-voltage interconnect control wiring
may vary depending on model selected.
2.
Refer to wiring diagram for low voltage connection to
appropriate terminals.
3.
Replace control box cover with wiring diagram facing in
after making all connections. Secure with four screws.
Units rated 208/230V, primary side of transformer are
factory wired for 230V.
For 208V power supply, transformer tap must be changed
from orange to red. Refer to the wiring diagram located on
inside control box cover. See Figure 33 .

Heat Pump Connection, Two-Stage
Heating
Cooling Only
Cooling only units utilize 4 low volt interconnecting wires
between indoor and outdoor units.
Each wire [COM1, COM2, SC, and 24 VDC (-)] connects
to the same named indoor and outdoor terminal. See
Figure 31 .
Protect unused wires or terminals, such as both RV, by wire
nut from making contact with junction box or other metal
surfaces.
Heat Pump Connection
• Heat Pump systems utilize 6 low voltage
interconnecting wires between indoor and outdoor
units.
• Each wire [COM1, COM2, SC, 24 VDC (-), RV, and RV]
connect to same named terminal indoor and outdoor.
See Figure 33 .
• RV signal is alternating current, as long as both indoor
RV connections are connected to the outdoor RV
connections system functions correctly.
• The other four (4) wires are polarized and must be
connected to matching terminal
