Servicing a CX700 SPE

Monitoring CX700 Status

Status lights made up of light emitting diodes (LEDs) on the storage 
system and its FRUs

 

indicate the current status of the CX700 and its 

individual components.

Figures 3-1 through 3-4 and Tables 3-1 through 3-3 explain the lights.

Figure 3-1

Status Lights Visible from the Front of the CX700 SPE

If the System Fault light is on, you should look at the other status 
lights to identify the faulty FRU(s). If the status light for a FRU 
remains on, replace the FRU as soon as possible. 

If a FRU fails in a CX700 SPE, the write cache function is disabled and high 
availability is compromised until you replace the faulty FRU.

Each fan module includes one amber cooling check (fan fault) LED 
that indicates a faulty module. These lights, visible with the front 
bezel removed, are shown in Figure 3-2.
