DEFROSTING
Remove the plug from the wall socket, open the door and put all the contents in a cool place.
Remove frost and ice with a scraper or allow the temperature to increase until the ice thaws.
Wipe off any remaining ice and water. Then reconnect the freezer to the mains.
NOTE: To prevent damage to the walls of the freezer compartment, do not use sharp objects to
remove ice or to separate packs of food.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
To get the greatest possible benefit from the freezer, it is important that you use it correctly.
Temperature regulation
The temperature in the freezer is controlled by the thermostat dial. It is located on the front
of the freezer at the top. Turn the thermostat dial to a higher or lower value to regulate the
temperature in the freezer. The dial is marked with the numbers “1–4” for the various
temperature ranges.
Setting “1” is the highest temperature and setting “4” is the lowest.
Set the dial to a position between “1” and “4”. Normally, setting “2” is a good choice.
Storage of deep-frozen food
Before the freezer is used for the first time or after defrosting, turn the thermostat dial to setting
“4”, and allow the freezer to stand for at least two hours before putting in the food that you want
to store in it.
Any frozen food you buy must be put in the freezer as soon as possible to stop it thawing out.
Always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for storage printed on the packaging of the
frozen food.
Take care to ensure the drawer does not damage the refrigerant pipe.
Freezing fresh food
Ensure good hygiene at all times when handling food. Freezing on its own will not sterilise
food. It is better to freeze food in smaller portions rather than in big packages. Never put hot
or even warm food in the freezer. When storing frozen food, pack the products in plastic bags,
aluminium foil or freezer containers and place in the freezer. Never freeze more than the largest
permitted quantity.
NOTE: Never put bottles of food or drink in the freezer.
To achieve the best results, leave enough free space in the freezer to allow air to circulate
around the packs of food.
NOTE: Under certain conditions, the freezer can be used without pull-out drawers.
