3. POSITIONING THE BARRIERS
Before positioning the barriers in an outdoor environment, bear in mind that the infrared beam has a conical shape:
the greater the distance between the barriers, the greater the diameter of the cone on arrival. In order to prevent
false alarms, the barriers must be not be positioned too close to reflective surfaces, such as walls, or objects that
can weaken the signal.
EXAMPLES OF SITUATIONS TO AVOID DURING INSTALLATION
1)
DO NOT position the barriers with plants, bushes or fixed objects within their range of action, as these can
block the signal and create “grey areas”. It is recommended to leave a 50cm corridor.
2)
Position the barriers frontally. DO NOT position the barriers close to walls, as this may reduce the signal
quality.
3)
DO NOT place the barriers along the side of roads: headlights pointing towards the RX could create
disturbances
4)
DO NOT place the barriers close to automatic gates: signals from the photocells may create interference.
