8.2. Other responsibilities
Warning:
As an ELIET dealer, you
must
familiarise your customers
with the
operation of the machine
and also
point out the possible dangers
while using
it. You are expected to carefully go over the maintenance points of the machine
together with the new owner. Repeat these instructions until the new owner has
fully understood all points.
Warning:
As the manufacturer of the machine, ELIET wishes to re-emphasise
that the dealer must expressly point out to the customers the necessity of
re-tightening all the blade bolts
within the first 5 operating hours
.
• The dealer is responsible for preparing the machine for use, before supplying it to the end user.
• The fuel tank will be filled (read § 9.3; page 28)
• The dealer checks whether there is oil in the engine and tops this up if necessary.
(read § 11.4.2; page 42)
• The dealer must check that the RPM setting is at 3,200 RPM.
• The dealer must make a final test drive and check that all devices are working properly.
• The dealer must check that all safety features work perfectly.
• The dealer will set the correct work depth. (read § 9.2.1; page 26) Every ELIET dealer is re-
sponsible for a long operating life of the ELIET machine. They will ensure full lubrication of the
machine before delivering it to the end user. This will grease all hinging and friction surfaces.

For your information:
check the list § 11.3 ‘Lubricants’ for the correct lubricant.
Important information for the new owner at the time of delivery:
• The dealer will explain how to adjust the depth setting. The correct setting must not be deeper
than 2 mm(1/10”) into the ground!
• The dealer must familiarise the new owner with the machine’s operation.
• The dealer will clearly explain that the lawn must be mown prior to dethatching.
• They must also inform the new owner of potential hazards.
• It is recommended always cleaning the machine after each operation.
• The dealer must insist that the machine should be returned for its first service after 10 hours of
operation (drive belt tightening and first oil change are required).
