Identify the hook switch. The hook switch mounts to the copper side of the PC board. Insert the switch tabs
into the mounting holes (see Figure 6-10a) and twist the tabs 1/8 of a turn as was done with the ringer switch.
Solder the switch’s contacts to the PC board using two pieces of discarded resistor leads and a 3” gray
stranded wire as shown in Figure 6-10b.
Install the following parts. After each step is completed, place a check mark in the box.
Identify two wires (4” red and 3” gray), microphone and microphone pad. Cut the 4” red wire down
to 2” and the 3” gray wire to 2”. Use the 2” red and 2” gray stranded wires and strip 1/8” of insulation
off of each end. Identify the microphone. Bend the wires and very carefully solder the wires to the
microphone as shown in Figure 6-8.
Peel the backing off of one side of the microphone pads and place them onto the microphone as shown in
Figure 6-9a.
Peel the second backing off of the microphone pads and thread the wires through the hole in the PC board
from the solder side as shown in Figure 6-9b. Solder the red wire to the hole marked MIC on the PC board
and the gray wire to the hole marked GND on the PC board. Place the microphone on the PC board on the
solder side as shown in Figure 6-9c. DO NOT contact the microphone with the buzzer.
