3. Auto clean function.

The Autoclean function helps to slow
down scaling and build up in the iron. It is
recommended to perform the Autoclean
function every 4 weeks.

without Autosteam function (model

ESI710/ESI730)

Fill the water tank up to 100ml with cold
tap water. Place the iron on its heel rest.
Plug the iron and set the Temperature
selector (K) to the MAX position (1). When
the Thermostat indicator light (H) turns
green, unplug the iron, and hold it over
a sink, then turn the Auto clean knob (G)
to the Autoclean position (2) and pull out
the knob. Gently shake over the sink until
all the water is gone. Insert the Auto clean
knob (G) back and press until it clicks. Turn
the iron on the MAX setting to dry the
soleplate. Once the Thermostat indicator
light (H) turns green again, unplug the
iron, let it cool down on its heel rest and
wipe the soleplate with a dry cloth.

indicator light (H) turns green, unplug the
iron, and hold it over a sink, (2) then pull
out the Auto clean knob (G). Gently shake
over the sink until all the water is gone.

a dry cloth.

•  Attention, if the Temperature selector

(K) is not on MAX/auto clean position,
it will not be possible to pull out or
place back the auto clean knob (G).

Cleaning (do not use any detergent)

1. Unplug the iron before cleaning.

Always place the iron on its heel rest and
allow cooling down. To clean exterior
surfaces, use a damp soft cloth and wipe
dry. Do not use any chemical solvents, as
these will damage the surface.

2. Cleaning the soleplate.

Do not use scouring pads or harsh
cleaners on the soleplate as these may
damage the surface. To remove burnt
residue, iron over a damp cloth while
the iron is still hot. To clean the soleplate,
simply wipe with a soft damp cloth and
wipe dry.

3. Permanent Anti-scale cartridge

(depending on models).

The permanent anti-scale cartridge
prevents scale from building up into the
soleplate and will help to extend the
life of the iron if the auto-clean function
is performed regularly. This system is
permanent and does not need to be
replaced.

4. Using the Spray mist to remove

stubborn creases.

Ensure the water tank is at least 1/4 full.
Use the spray mist to pre-dampen fabrics
by pressing the spray button (E) several
times to release a fine mist.

5. Turbo shot of steam function.

Make sure the Temperature selector is set
on ••• or higher. To release a Turbo shot
of steam, press the Turbo steam button
( F) 1 or 2 times. Always wait for a few
seconds  after each shot before pressing
the button again.

6. Vertical steaming.

Vertical steam function is ideal for
steaming curtains, suits, dresses and
delicate fabrics. Hang item on a hanger
(always use a hanger, never use on a
garment while someone is wearing it),
hold iron at a distance of 10 cm, set the
iron on  ••• or higher and press the Turbo
steam button (F) 1 or 2 times. Always wait
for a few seconds after each shot before
pressing the button again. Never direct
steam at someone.

7. Auto-off Safety.

If the iron is left unattended on
the soleplate or on the side, it will
automatically turn off after 30 seconds.
If it is left unattended on the heel rest, it
will turn off after 8 minutes. The safety
auto off light (I) will start flashing red and
a sound alarm will beep twice to indicate
that the iron has been switched off. If you
wish to turn it back on again, move the
iron gently until the Thermostat indicator
light (H) turns on ‘orange’. It will turn
‘Green’ once the temperature selected
is reached, meaning the iron is ready to
use again.
