Getting Started
1. Before first use.
Remove all adhesive and gently rub
with a dampened cloth before plugging
in the iron.
We recommend that you rinse the
water tank by operating the steam in a
horizontal position away from your linen
for one minute. When the iron is turned
on for the first time, harmless vapours/
odours may be emitted temporarily.
This will cease quickly.
2. Filling the water tank.
Make sure the iron is unplugged.
Set the temperature selector (L) to
position 0. Open the water filling inlet
cover (D). Using the beaker provided, pour
water up to maximum level. Close the
cover until it clicks.
Caution:
Do not exceed the maximum water
level as indicated on the water tank (N).
Type of water to be used:
This iron has been
designed to use normal tap water. If the
tap water in your area is very hard, you can
fill the tank with 50% tap water and 50%
bottled distilled water. Never use distilled
water only. Never put scented water,
vinegar or ironing aids in the water tank.
This may cause brown spitting and staining.
3. Plug the power cable into a power
outlets.
Set the temperature selector (L) according
to the fabric type by referring to the
garment label or the ironing chart below.
The temperature indicator light (J) turns
red. When the temperature indicator
light (J) turns green, the iron is ready to
use. The light will switch between red
and green as the iron is maintaining the
selected temperature.
4.
Adjust steam and temperature
settings for the model without the
auto-steam function (ESI7304).
Set the temperature selector (L) according
to the fabric type by referring to the
ironing chart. Then adjust the
steam output by setting the steam
selector (E) according to the fabric
type by referring to the ironing chart
below.
For “Dry ironing”, set the steam selector
(E) to the position “off”.
5. Adjust the ironing settings for
the models equipped with the
auto-steam function (ESI7504).
The auto-steam function regulates
the steam amount according to the
temperature set. Set the temperature
selector (L) according to the fabric type
by referring to the ironing chart below,
the steam output will be automatically
adjusted to deliver the most effective
combination for the type of fabric selected.
For “Dry ironing”, press down the “no
steam” button (G). To come back to steam
function, press again the button.
Tips:
Setting the right temperature:
Check the laundry care label for the
fabric type. If you select a lower
temperature setting whilst in use, wait
for a few minutes before ironing to make
sure the iron has cooled down. Setting the
right amount of steam: Always make sure
that the steam setting selected is suitable
for the temperature set and fabric type.
The iron is equipped with an anti-drip
device to prevent water from dripping
out of the soleplate when the temperature
selected is too low.
