CHANGING THE RECT WAVEFORM TYPE
The RECT waveform can be displayed
FILLED or UNFILLED, as illustrated
(screenshots taken with gauge set to
FLAW mode).
To adjust the RECT WAVE setting:
1.
Select MENU/DISP/RECT WAVE.
2.
Use LEFT and RIGHT to scroll to
RECT WAVE.
3.
Press MEAS to return to the
measurement screen.
CHANGING THE DETECT MARK ON
THE WAVEFORM
The type of detect mark on the waveform
can be adjusted (NONE, LINE, DOTS or NONE), as illustrated. The detect mark is useful as it
provides a clear indication to the user as to where a detect is taking place and what the thickness
reading displayed in the top right of the thickness gauge display is derived from. The thickness
reading shown by the flaw detector when "OK" is pressed is also shown with the detect mark
To adjust the DETECT MARK setting:
1.
Select MENU/DISP/DETECT MARK
2.
Use LEFT and RIGHT to locate the type of DETECT MARK.
3.
Press MEAS to return to the measurement screen.
5.5 FRONT PANEL LIGHTS
The green light illuminates when t
he alarm mode is active and the measurement is within limits.
The red light illuminates when t
he alarm mode is active and the measurement is outside limits.

6 THE MEASUREMENT SCREEN
When the GAUGE function is set to THICKNESS GAUGE, the FD700 series becomes a corrosion
gauge that measures with extreme versatility. It has the ability to measure coatings and material
thickness simultaneously while maintaining the ability to locate pits, flaws and defects in the
material.
Based on the same operating principles as SONAR, the FD700 series is capable of measuring the
thickness of various materials with accuracy as high as 0.01 millimetres (0.001 inches). The
