Operating Instructions for Shearing Clippers

Remove the mains plug before carrying out maintenance and cleaning.
Never leave the clippers unsupervised whilst plugged into mains power. Keep children away from
the working area and store the device out of reach of children.
2.4.2
Duty to service and inspect
Do not operate the shearing clippers unless they are undamaged and in proper working condition.
Send the device for service or repairs if you notice damage to the enclosure or the power cord.
2.4.3
Noise emission / personal protective equipment
Wear earmuffs!
The noise level when working is typically 83 dB (A). We recommend to always use hearing
protection when working.
Wear goggles and gloves!
We recommend wearing protective glasses and gloves for your personal protection.
The operator should provide the personal protective equipment.
2.4.4
Residual danger
Please inform us if you should encounter dangers and risks during operation which are not
directly related to the act of shearing. This also applies to potentially hazardous technical defects.
2.5
Demands on the operator
Safe use of the clippers makes only minimal demands on the user. It is imperative, however, to
observe and comply with these demands.
• The operator has experience in handling the sheared animals.
• The operator has read and understood the Operating instructions or has been instructed on the
use of the clippers by a specialist who also points out the risks.
Children may not operate the clippers.

Taking into operation
3.1
Checks and operating notes
The improper use of electrical equipment, especially animal husbandry apparatus, creates
hazards! Before taking the clippers into operation therefore, always take these measures to
prevent accidents:
• Be sure that the mains voltage corresponds to the nameplate voltage. The clippers are for
connection to AC only.
• Avoid touching the moving clipper blades.
• Do not touch the clippers in the region of the clipper blades, even if the clippers are switched
off, unless the power cord is unplugged. Always first unplug the clippers from mains before
working on the clipper blades or clipper head.
• Do not touch the clippers if they are in contact with liquids. Never shear animals that are wet.
Any ingress of liquids into the clippers will impair the electrical insulation. This creates a risk
of electric shock or short-circuits. Only clean the clippers dry, with a brush and cleaning brush.
