This aircraft carried the legend “A.V.B. The 1st” as it was the first Spitfire paid for by money collected by the Australian Victory Bonds Campaign. The colour
of the emblem is unknown. It is believed that “A.V.B.” is in grey or Sky Blue and that “The 1st” may be in Yellow. Cannon fairings were Foliage Green.
