Technical Aspects
This appendix describes the some of the important technical aspects of
the pH/mV Amp to give some insight into how it works. You do not
need to know the material here to use the pH/mV Amp. It is likely to be
of interest to the technically minded. (However, you should not use it as
a service manual: user modification of the equipment voids your rights
under warranty.)
pH/mV Amp Operation
The pH/mV Amp and other eDAQ Amps have been designed to be
used with an e-corder system. The pH/mV Amp is an extension of the
e-corder’s analog input channels. It provides:
• a very high impedance amplifier suitable for direct connection to
pH or other ion selective electrodes.
• software controlled filtering for the pH channel.
• reference electrode input.
• software selectable electrode sensitivity
• a temperature amplifier, factory configured for use with an RTD
temperature probe.
