2 Safety
CAUTION
Safety warnings and emphases must be observed in all cases!
WARNING
2.1 General Points
The Ecoplus-PCB has been constructed and checked in accordance with DIN EN 61010-
1:2004-01 and left the factory in a safe, faultless technical condition.
To keep the device in this condition and to ensure risk-free operation, the user must observe
the instructions and warnings in this Operating Instruction.
CAUTION
If you believe that the equipment can no longer be operated safely, you must take it out of
operation and secure it so that it cannot be used.
This must be done if the equipment has visible damage, no longer appears to be fully
functional, or if it has been stored for a long time in poor conditions.
Parts carrying an electric current can be exposed when the equipment is opened. You must
therefore turn off the mains voltage first. Maintenance work that takes place when the
equipment is energized must only be carried out by a specialist.
The checklist in chapter 7 “Fault Handling” can be used to eliminate faults.
2.2 Maintenance and Repair
Repair and maintenance work may only be carried out by authorized experts.
CAUTION
Suitable protective clothing and protective goggles must be worn during all maintenance
and repair work.
2.3 Emphases
The emphases have the following meanings:
CAUTION
Used when failure to follow the operating instructions, work instructions, prescribed
working procedures or the like may lead to injuries or accidents.
WARNING!
Used when failure to follow the operating instructions, work instructions, working
procedures, and the like, either completely or in part, may lead to equipment damage.
IMPORTANT
Used when particular care must be exercised when handling the equipment.
INFORMATION
Used to indicate an aspect of particular importance.
2.4 Special Safety Information for Maintenance and Repair Work
CAUTION
Before performing maintenance or repair work wear protective clothing (safety glasses,
protective gloves and apron).
Repairs on electrical equipment may only be undertaken by trained electricians!
When you open covers or remove parts – unless it is possible to do so without requiring a
tool - other parts carrying an electrical current can be exposed. Connecting parts can also
carry an electrical current.
IMPORTANT
Only original equipment spare parts may be used for repairs.
