9.2 Terra Term – alternative terminal program for Windows Vista / Windows 7
For Windows Vista and higher the terminal program HyperTerminal is no longer an integral part of the operating
system and is therefore no longer available for accessing the LAN gateway’s serial monitor interface.
As an alternative, the open source program
Terra Term
can be used. The licence is to be complied with (BSD
style licence) under all circumstances. Further information on this can be found under

The operation of the LAN gateway’s monitor interface is analogous to its operation under HyperTerminal.
Differences in the configuration method are described in the following chapters.
