Connecting to a Power Source
This device has two power-supply slots, both supporting AC and DC power.
Connecting a 9216-ACPS
To connect the device to a 9216-ACPS:
1.
Verify that the external 9216-ACPS has a 90–240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 2A
rating.
2.
Verify that the 9216-ACPS is installed and powered OFF.
3.
Plug in the power cable into the 9216-ACPS.
4.
Turn on the unit's power button and verify that the relevant PS LED (PS 1
or 2) is green.
5.
If you have a redundant 9216-ACPS, repeat the steps above to connect it.
6.
In such scenario, both modules' PS LEDs are turned on.
For instructions about hot swapping the power supply unit, refer to
Hot-
Swapping a 9216-DCPS or 9216-ACPS Module
.
Connecting a DC Power Source
Before connecting the device to a DC power source, make sure that:
The DC supply source is located within the same premises as the device.
The DC power source is protected with a circuit breaker with a rating of 5 Amp
connected to the non-grounding conductor.
The device is connected directly to the DC supply system and that there is no
switching or disconnecting devices in the earthed circuit conductor between the
DC source and the connection point of the grounding electrode conductor.
This device is located in the same immediate area (such as adjacent cabinets) as
any other equipment that has a connection between:
the earthed conductor of the same DC supply circuit
the grounding conductor
the point of grounding of the DC system
The DC system is not earthed elsewhere.
