1. Remove spark plug lead and spark plug (A).

2. Remove (4) starter cover hex socket bolts and starter.

3. Disconnect the throttle cable from swivel.

4. Remove bottom left and bottom right hex socket bolts.

5. Carefully pull cylinder cover forward disengaging muffler gasket

tabs (B) and stop switch lead (C) and lay aside. The throttle cable
remains assembled to cylinder cover.

6. Loosely install spark plug to keep debris out of the cylinder. Use

brush to remove dirt from cylinder fins.

IMPORTANT
DO NOT use a metal scraper to remove dirt from the cylinder fins.

7. Install cylinder cover, throttle cable, starter cover, spark plug and

spark plug lead.

NOTE
When installing the cylinder cover, be certain the muffler gasket
tabs are locked into the muffler grill slots and the stop switch lead
is seated in the rubber grommet.

Cylinder Exhaust Port

Level 3.

IMPORTANT
The cylinder exhaust port must be inspected and cleaned of excess
carbon every 3 months or 90 hours of operation in order to maintain
this engine within the emissions durability period. ECHO strongly
recommends that you return your unit to your ECHO dealer for this
important maintenance service.
