SERVICE & MAINTENANCE

WARNING

BEFORE INSPECTING OR SERVICING ANY PART OF THIS MACHINE, SHUT OFF POWER SOURCE,

AND MAKE SURE ALL MOVING PARTS HAVE COME TO A COMPLETE STOP.

The chipping blades should clear the chipper anvil, located

inside the frame on the bottom edge of the chipper chute

intake, by 1/16" to 1/8" (Figure 5.5). To adjust the blade

clearance, proceed as follows:
1.  Remove the lower belt guard, discharge door,

discharge screen and the access cover.

2.  Loosen the bushing bolts holding the pulley to the

rotor shaft on the front side.

3.  Remove the rotor shaft cover on the rotor shaft rear

side.

5.8 CHANGING THE DISCHARGE

SCREEN

5.8.1 REMOVE

1.  Remove the discharge door by removing the pivot rod

securing the discharge door to the chipper body.

2.

Remove the two 5/16" × 3/4" bolts and nuts securing

the discharge screen to the frame. Pull the bottom of

the discharge screen outward to rotate the screen off

the lip.

5.8.2 INSTALL

1.  Place the top lip of the replacement screen onto into

the slot under the top slope of the chipper body and

rotate the screen so that the bolt holes align with the

holes in the chipper body. Reinstall the bolts and

torque to 17 ft-lbs.

2.  Replace the discharge door.
