It is important to point out that Libre is not measuring blood glucose but intersEEal

glucose which is the ﬂuid between cells under the skin. This means there is a lag of

around 10 minutes

–

blood glucose will rise ﬁrst and fall ﬁrst aZer food and the

intersiEal glucose then catches up. When the glucose level is not changing we would

expect Libre and ﬁnger-prick tests to be similar.
