Always remember the following:
•
Check the function of the cycle and its parts
prior to each trip!
•
Never adjust any bent safety-relevant parts (such
as the frame, wheel fork, handlebars, treadles,
seat bearings, mudguard struts and pedals);
instead, replace them promptly . Danger of
breakage!
•
Only use original spare parts!
Caution: Improper Repairs may result in
hazards for the user and the Defects liability is
void!
Proper conduct as a road user
•
Use bicycle paths wherever these are available .
•
Always cycle on the far right; overtake from the
left .
•
Prior to each turn, give a clear signal with your
outstretched arm .
•
Always cycle in the specified direction of travel .
•
Always ride at a speed suitable to the prevailing
weather conditions; on a wet roadway, the brak-
ing distance is always longer!
•
At night and whenever visibility is low, only ride
with lights on .
•
Take care to avoid harm to plants and animals
when cycling off-road .
•
Protect your head by wearing a cycling helmet
(certified according to DIN-EN 1078)!
•
When cycling, never listen to music via head-
phones (e .g . on a Walkman/Discman, MP3
player)!
•
Wear functional clothing (tight-fitting leg warm-
ers, cycle clips if necessary, sturdy shoes); in
darkness and in inclement weather, also wear
reflective clothing .
•
When travelling in full skirts and long coats, only
ride wearing a coat guard .
•
WARNING: In wet conditions, the efficacy of the
brakes and the dynamo decreases! Adapt your
cycling manoeuvres accordingly .
•
Accident risks:
Cycling free-handed and hitching the cycle
to other vehicles is potentially fatal and also
prohibited.
Cycling parallel to each other impairs the flow
of traffic; therefore, always ride single file.
Only the cyclist can ride on the bicycle; no
passengers allowed! (Exception: a child on
the specially-designed child seat). Please pay
attention to the maximum load.
Careful handling of the EBIKE
•
Prior to the transport of this cycle either at the
rear or on the roof of a motor vehicle, always
remove any parts which may loosen in transit
(tool bag, luggage baskets, luggage bags, pumps,
child seats, drive battery etc .)!
Permissible load for the EBIKE
•
The permissible total load (cyclist and luggage)
for the EBIKE amounts to 120 kg .
•
The permissible load of the luggage carrier is
mentioned on the luggage carrier .
If your cycle is equipped with a front basket, the ad-
ditional load allowed here is 5kg .
Braking response
•
To ensure that the front wheel does not slip and
the EBIKE retains its steering capacity, /per-
form careful braking maneuvers with the front-
wheel brake at tight curves/bends, on sandy/
slippery roads, wet asphalt and black ice!
•
The brakes must be applied gently and precisely .
Blocked wheels have a lesser braking effect and
can therefore lead to skidding and falls!
•
As a rule, brake prior to approaching a bend, not
in the bend itself; braking increases the risk of
slippage!
•
The brake levers attached to the handlebars
must always be firmly attached . Check them
regularly to ensure their firm attachment; adjust
as necessary .
•
Any work on the brake system should be per-
formed solely by specialized dealers!
