Figure 20. Exhaust duct components (2).
Following list of items should be kept in mind during the design and
installation of the ducts:
•
Duct is not fire rated.
•
Duct is weather proof as long as the gasket and top cover are
installed properly as shown on
•
If possible, the duct should be routed outside the building to the
closet point.
•
Duct must be supported at least every 120 in. (3 m) in both the
horizontal and vertical directions. Standard hanging straps may
be used, however the support hardware may not be drilled or
screwed into the duct. Arc duct hanger assembly, 69C4455G01,
is available from Eaton as shown in the
•
The duct must have a downward slope away from the gear so
that any water entering the ducts due to inclement weather drains
away from the gear.
•
Under no circumstances can the exhaust end of the duct be
obstructed. The flap should be free to open 120° without
obstruction.
•
The customer or contractor cannot supply their own ducts per the
drawing.
•
Customer or the contractor is responsible for sealing the wall
penetration.
•
Several options are available for duct collars, duct section,
duct elbow, and duct end assembly. Contact Eaton for more
information.
•
Modification of the plenum or duct without approval from Eaton
will compromise the arc resistant rating of the entire line-up.
