PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
Compact 32d, 32c and 53c
Front Cover Sensor
The Compact 32d printer is fitted with a front cover to protect the internal
mechanism of the printer from dust. During normal use, the cover should be
fitted at all times to ensure that the mechanism is protected.
A sensor within the printer detects if the cover is fitted. At default / factory
setting, the sensor will detect if the cover has been removed and stop the
printer from operating. The front status LED will turn red and the Compact
Touchscreen will report that the printer is open.
Ignore Cover Sensor
There may be some occasions where the printer is required to operate with
the cover open, such as during service, maintenance, fault finding or
product demonstration.
(1) To view the value that the sensor is returning, go to
Settings > IO Port
> Monitor
and scroll to ‘Cover Sensor’.
(2) To ignore the Cover Sensor:
(a) Go to
Settings > Advanced Settings > System Variable.
(b) Select ‘Ignore Cover Sensor’.
Note:
Ignoring the Cover Sensor will not disable the function on
Compact 32c / 53c printer variants.
Rear Cover
CAUTION:
The rear cover MUST be in place while the printer is
being operated or tested. The rear cover supports
the PCBs and holds the sensors for the head
position stationary with respect to the printer base
plate.
Vertical Print Head Calibration
CAUTION:
After changing a PCB or the head actuator
mechanisms, the user MUST perform a vertical print
head calibration. Go to Settings > Production Line
Setup > Head Functions and select Calibrate.
