Simplified Operating Instructions
Spreading Mode: Face UP
1) Activate Main Power Button (red).
2) Press Main Drive Button (green).
3) Set Counter for number of plies desired.
4) Move spreader to left end marker (moveable
catcher).
5) Press ZERO POSITION (on touch pad control
panel).
6) Press Program.
7) Press LENGTH.
8) Key in desired length.
9) Press OK?.
10) Press SAVE.
11)Press START button (green) to begin automatic
spreading.

1) Activate Main Power Button (red).
2) Press Main Drive Button (green).
3) Set Counter for number of plies desired.
4) Move spreader to left end marker (moveable
catcher).
5) Press ZERO POSITION (on touch pad control
panel).
6) Move spreader to right end marker (stationary
catcher).
7) Press PROGRAM.
8) Press LENGTH.
9) Press LENGTH/POSITION..
10)Press OK?.
11) Press SAVE.
12)Press SET LOAD POSITION.
13)Press START button (green) to begin automatic
spreading.
IMPORTANT
To stop the
CR 500 at any point during spreading,
either:
- Twist and release throttle.
- Press red “STOP” button on MAIN CONTROL
panel.
- Hit the Main Power Button (red).
OPERATING ADJUSTMENTS
Spreading Speed Adjustment
Spreading speeds may very between materials being
spread. Spreading speed is adjusted on the main control
panel (speed -) (speed +). Experimentation will yield the
best operational setting for your fabric.
End Speed
The end speed adjusts the final approach speed at each end
of spread. To adjust, press End Speed. The arrow points to
the end of spread to be set. Press (speed -) or (speed +) to
adjust. Press End Speed to exit.
Automatic Speed
The automatic speed is adjusted by pressing (speed -) or
(speed +).
Note: Face Up return speed is adjusted separately.
Ply Height Adjustment
As each layer of cloth is spread in automatic mode, the
knifebox or folding blades must raise enough to clear the
height of spread. Located on the main control panel, press
(Ply ) for higher elevator step or (Ply Height -) for
lower elevator step.
Feed Delay
When spreading in face to face with catchers it is necessary
to compensate for any slack cloth when the spreader
reverses direction and leaves the catcher. The feed delay will
stop the cradle feed when the machine leaves the catcher. To
adjust, press (Feed Delay+) or (Feed Delay - ) so neither
slack cloth is left in the catcher and no cloth is pulled from
under the pinbar. Experimentation will yield the best
operational setting for this adjustment. (ref: 1.5 seconds).
Machine Acceleration
Located on the main control panel, press Accel to set
acceleration rate of the spreader, in any mode. Speeds may
vary between materials being spread. The Fast (1) selection
is appropriate for most materials. If piece goods are espe-
cially stretchy or flimsy, the SLOW (0) setting may be
necessary.
