7. MAINTENANCE AND CARE
1 Adapter plug
2 Cables
3 Housing
The universal charging cable does not require any maintenance when
used as intended.
Clean the unit only with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use any liquids or
chemical cleaning agents. Never immerse the unit in liquids. Never
allow liquids to run over or enter the unit.
Store the unit in a dry place.
Pull the cable (position 2 in the overview) at the middle adapter
(position 1 in the overview) all the way out of the housing (position
3 in the overview). This is very important because a coiled cable can
overheat during the charging process. Connect your smartphone/USB
device to the appropriate adapter. You can use the middle adapter
directly. If you need one of the other two adapters, plug the middle one
(USB micro B adapter) into the appropriate port for your device, Fig. 2.
Make sure that the total charging current of max. 4.8 A is
not exceeded.

Picture 2: Smartphone connected
Plug the universal charging cable with the car plug (position 4 in
the overview) into the on-board socket of your vehicle. To check that
the universal charging cable is connected to your vehicle‘s electrical
system, the blue illumination of the USB sockets (position 5 in the
overview) is activated.
If you want to charge a device for which none of the three adapters fi ts,
or if additional devices are to be charged, you can connect them to the
USB sockets (position 5 in the overview) of the universal charging cable
using the original charging cables of the devices.
After parking the vehicle, remove the plug from the on-board socket
again, otherwise your vehicle‘s battery will be discharged.
To wind up the cable, hold the housing with one hand and the end of
the cable with the other so that the cable is stretched. Now press the
rewind button (position 6 in the overview) on the housing and allow
the cable to rewind in a controlled manner. If the cable is rolled up in
an uncontrolled manner, there is a risk of injury and the unit may be
damaged.
6.3 REPLACING THE FUSE
Turn the plastic nut (position 10) on the tip of the car plug (position
7) counterclockwise until it loosens from the plug and remove it. The
fuse (position 8) is released and can be pulled out of the plug with the
contact sleeve (position 9). Replace it with a new fuse of the same
strength and screw the plastic nut back into the plug, Fig. 3 .
