3.4.2 Initial test sequence
This comprises the automatic nominal test sequence which includes the communication test
in direct mode and MMI tests.
3.5 TROUBLESHOOTING
3.5.1 Fault analysis on the basis of the test report
The test report enables the technician to correlate the KO tests on the TRB and the
information supplied by O level (monitoring sheet, Go–Nogo test report).
•
The test report is OK:
the terminal is declared conform. It is returned to the user or put in the reserve stock
with “ARS” stamped on the monitoring sheet.
•
The test report is KO:
the terminal is faulty and the technician consults the troubleshooting tables
(see Section 3.5.2) to isolate the defective subassembly.
3.5.2 Troubleshooting tables
Table 3.8 matches up the failed test or tests on the test report with the defective
subassembly.
The column on the right of Table 3.8 gives the subassembly or subassemblies incriminated
in the failed test. The radio and logic functions, selector and volume knobs are included under
the “module” heading. The microphone(s), PTT key and all the other keypad keys are
included under the “HAB” heading. The loudspeaker is also soldered to the HAB board even
though it is built into the terminal’s front panel.
If it is not possible to determine whether the module or HAB board is defective, the module
is replaced first as it is easier to reinstall.
