Extra burst of steam
The iron can generate an extra burst of steam that can help to remove stubborn creases. This extra steam burst
can be operated in steam ironing mode and in conventional ‘dry’ ironing mode (i.e. position 0 of the steam
control) at any temperature setting. To use the burst of steam, fill the water tank before connecting the iron to
the mains supply. Only press the steam burst button when the iron has reached the appropriate temperature
and the heating indicator has switched off. (You may need to press it more than once when you first use it). After
pressing the button, wait a few seconds to allow the steam to penetrate into the fabric. To maintain an effective
burst of steam, don’t press the steam button more than three times in succession; wait for the soleplate to reheat
before using the steam burst again.
To create a more effective burst of steam, wait for 3-10 seconds before pressing the button again. The amount of
steam will vary depending on the temperature; lower temperature settings generate less steam. To avoid drops of
water forming on the soleplate, only press the steam burst button for a short period.
Note:
the extra burst of steam can also be operated when the iron is held vertically.
Variable steam control
The amount of steam can easily be adjusted by using the steam control (part no. 9). This will help you eliminate
creases from various types of fabric.
Self-cleaning function
The self-cleaning function extends the life of the iron by removing dirt and mineral deposits that accumulate on
the soleplate and steam nozzles after extended use.
1. Turn the steam control to 0 (steam off).
2. Fill the water tank to the maximum (MAX) level.
3. Turn the temperature control dial anticlockwise to the minimum (MIN) level. Now hold the iron vertically,
connect it to mains power and turn the temperature control dial to the maximum (MAX) level. The
heating indicator will illuminate and the soleplate will start to heat. After around 1-2 minutes, the preset
temperature will be reached and the heating indicator light will switch off.
4. Remove the mains plug from the socket. Hold the iron in a horizontal position above an appropriate surface
(e.g. a sink) and hold down the self-clean button for a while. The soleplate will release a large amount of
steam and water, washing away dirt and other deposits.
the soleplate releases a considerable amount of steam and hot water in self-cleaning
mode. take great care to avoid burning yourself or causing any damage.
