Section 6: Creating Pages

DynaVox Series 4 software provides the DynaVox Language Applications as a starting point for building
your own unique communication pages. In addition to adding unique vocabulary to these pages, you may
also want to customize your chosen page set with some original pages. Your DV4/MT4 device offers
several ways to create your own personalized communication pages:

Quick Page

●

Skeleton Pages

●

Page Wizard

●

Page Editor (Advanced Page Editing)

These tools provide the most efficient way to create well-organized communication pages. When used to
add original pages to the existing DynaVox Language Applications pages, these tools simplify page creation
by providing a professionally-developed framework for your custom pages.

DynaVox Series 4 software also provides advanced editing tools for individuals who do not want to work
with the existing framework of pages. Advanced editing tools are discussed briefly at the end of this
section, and more detailed information is available in the DynaVox Series 4 Searchable Help on the CD
that came with your DV4/MT4 device.

Quick Page

The Quick Page feature provides an efficient way to add vocabulary and symbols to copies of template
pages. Quick Page also promotes consistency in page layout and navigation strategies, making it easy to
move from one page to another while you are using your DV4/MT4 to communicate. The templates used
in the Quick Page feature are based on the layouts of the DynaVox Language Applications page sets and
skeleton page sets that are available on your device. This allows you to build customized pages from
templates that match the page set you are using.

Note:

Using Quick Page will not permanently change the chosen template. Quick Page creates a new
page by using a copy of the template.

Templates for Quick Page can be selected in the

Interface Features

menu. If at least one template is not

specified before the Quick Page feature is opened, you will be asked to choose a template at that time.
Once a template is chosen, the Quick Page feature guides you through the process of adding vocabulary
to buttons on a copy of the template page. If symbols are associated with the vocabulary you choose,
they will be automatically added to the buttons. Template buttons may be pre-programmed with
behaviors that will make sure the buttons perform specific actions when they are selected.
