Precautions, and Warnings
Contraindications
Do not use Iontophoresis for patients with the following conditions:
Pacemakers / Electrically Sensitive Implanted Devices
This device is contraindicated for patients with pacemakers or electrically
sensitive implanted devices.
Cardiac Conditions
Patients with Dysrhythmia or where possible heart problems are suspected
should not receive iontophoresis treatments.
Malignancy
The use of Iontophoresis is contraindicated for patients with clinically
diagnosed cancer.
Epilepsy
Iontophoresis is contraindicated for patients with Epilepsy.
Previous Reactions to Electrotherapy
The use of Iontophoresis is contraindicated for patients who have had
previous reactions to any type of electrotherapy.
Previous Adverse Reactions Iontophoresis Drugs
The use of Iontophoresis is contraindicated for patients who have had
adverse reactions to selected drugs.
Pregnancy
Iontophoresis is contraindicated during pregnancy as the safety of
electrical stimulation during pregnancy has not been established.
Abnormal Skin Conditions / Skin Lesions
Iontophoresis is contraindicated over areas of abnormal skin conditions
including lesions, lacerations, or abrasions.
