•
Mark the circle to be cut and make a hole in the cen-
tre (the diameter of the hole should be equal to the
diameter of locating pin
15
)
•
If you do not intend to start sawing from the edge of
the workpiece, make a hole at the starting point as in
figure 11 (the diameter of the hole should be over the
width of saw blade 12)
•
Loosen lock bolts
5
(for
STS06-85 DV
- one bolt
5
)
•
Turn over guide bar for parallel cutting / circle
cutting
16
and place as in figure 11.
•
Move the power tool to the starting point If you do
not intend to start sawing from the edge of the work-
piece, insert saw blade 12 to the hole made at the
starting point
•
Set the operating radius for circular sawing moving
guide bar for parallel cutting / circle cutting
16
till the
hole made for locating pin
15
coincides with the central
hole of the circle
•
Insert locating pin
15
into guide bar for parallel cut-
ting / circle cutting
16
and simultaneously into the cen-
tral hole of the circle
•
Tighten lock bolts
5
(for
STS06-85 DV
- one bolt
5
)
to fix guide bar
16
for circular / parallel sawing
•
Start sawing along the marked circle by one hand
and holding locating pin
15
by the other hand
Use narrow sawing blades 12 to perform
circular or curvilinear sawing to improve
quality and make the operation easier.
Straight sawing (see fig. 12-13)
[STS05-55 DV, STS06-80 D, STS06-85 DV]
The parallel guide for parallel sawing
16
allows saw-
ing along the existing straight edge as well as cutting
straight bars of the same width (see fig. 12).
•
Loosen lock bolts
5
(for
STS06-85 DV
- one bolt
5
)
•
Position the parallel guide for parallel sawing
16
(see fig. 12).
•
Set the needed sawing distance
•
Tighten lock bolts
5
(for
STS06-85 DV
- one bolt
5
)
to fix guide bar
16
for circular / parallel sawing
•
Saw by pressing the parallel guide for parallel saw-
ing
16
to the side edge of the blank part
Similar results can be reached by attach-
ing a board to a work part with screw
clamps and using such board as a sec-
ondary limit stop. Perform sawing by
moving power tool along the limit stop while
pressing the side of base plate 10 to the side of the
board (see fig. 13).
Cutting angle adjustment (see fig. 14-15)
The design of the power tool facilitates making
angled saw cuts by angling the case of the power
tool The base plate
10
of the power tool contains a
scale 22 which marks the angles of the casing of the
power tool (the step is 15°) If additional measuring in-
struments are used, one may position the casing of the
power tool at any angle (within the limits specified in
the technical data table)
[STS05-55 DV, STS05-60 D, STS06-80 D]
•
Use Allen key 14 to loosen bolts 21
(see fig. 14).
•
Shift the base plate
10
back or forward (depending
upon the previously installed angle of the casing) and
select the needed angle of the casing using the read-
ings of the scale 22 or the readings of the additional
measurement instrument
•
Use Allen key 14 to tighten bolts 21
•
Perform sawing as described above
[STS06-85 DV]
•
Loosen locking lever 17
(see fig. 15).
•
Shift the base plate
10
back and select the need-
ed angle of the casing using the readings of the
scale 22 or the readings of the additional measurement
instrument
•
Tighten locking lever 17
•
Perform sawing as described above
Power tool maintenance /
preventive measures
Before carrying out any works on the power tool it
must be disconnected from the mains.
Cleaning of the power tool
An indispensable condition for a safe long-term exploi-
tation of the power tool is to keep it clean Regularly
flush the power tool with compressed air thought the
ventilation slots 4
